Seen and Not Heard
25 minutes, Girls Up North/ Counter Image, 1993
Whilst teaching at now defunct film, video and photography resource Counter Image, Helen began a collaboration with director Janet Shaw on Seen and Not Heard which starred then Coronation Street actor Geoff Hinsliff. The 16mm film was funded by grants from the North West Arts Board and The Prince’s Trust, but sadly money ran out after rough cut and the film was never finished. GUN made a conscious decision to crew the film with as many female film-makers as possible, many of whom, like Dear Frankie director Shona Auerbach, are still working in the industry.
